'WORDS ARE THE LIFE'S BLOOD OF KNOWLEDGE'
Deborah Joy Leadingham-Baskall
At age eleven, I wrote my first poem called 'Death had taken over'.
It truly had and I wrote it, to help myself deal with the sudden death of my Dad. A shocking realization that sent my young heart into oblivion. It was a tragic loss. After reading it out loud in school, I received a standing ovation from my classmates and it changed my life. I have never stopped writing.
You see, Dad wrote love letters to my Mom from the day they met and she wrote love notes throughout her entire life. Their joyful words were footprints in the sand, inspiring me to follow them into a lifetime of writing.
